Kind bus driver praised for making young autistic Hull City…
A bus driver has been praised for making it a day to remember for an autistic Hull City fan. The young supporter had already enjoyed watching Hull City bag a narrow 1-0 win over Watford at the MKM Stadium on Saturday when he boarded the bus back to the park-and-ride at Priory Park. The inquisitive boy went over to the Stagecoach bus driver and began asking lots of questions. But, rather than get impatient as the bus filled up with Tigers fans, the driver Ian took time out to answer the questions. But he even went further and allowed the boy to sit in the driver’s seat and pretend to take the fares. She said: “The bus picked up outside the ground to go back to the park and ride at Priory Park in Hessle and the little boy was one of the last to get on. That meant he was stood near the front, but there was a little wait before we set off. “The boy said something like ‘bus driver can I come over and talk to you’ to which the bus driver said he could. The next minute he was sitting in his seat, the driver was showing him how he opens and closes the doors and he turned the engine off so it was all safe. “The little boy asked him to get off the bus then come back on as a passenger, so he did. The boy greeted him and the driver pretended to buy tickets. He was talking to him for ages.
