Latest phase of A63 Castle Street works with nine-week closure…

Drivers in Hull have been advised of further works at a city centre junction next month as the A63 Castle Street improvement scheme moves forward – including a nine-week closure of an exit slip road. The scheme is now focusing on the Market Place and Queen Street junction with the A63. The pedestrian crossings have now been removed from the busy junction, with a new public walkway provided via the High Street underpass. National Highways is also widening the entry and exit slip roads, with dedicated lanes for exiting at Market Place and entry on to Myton Bridge. While this work has been taking place, closures have been in place on the Queen Street entry and exit slip roads – the Queen Street exit slip road is now due to be completed on Friday, July 12. Traffic will be redirected via a new diversion as part of this latest phase of the scheme.
