Live updates as trains in and out of Hull cancelled this evening due to points failure

Trains coming in and out of Hull this evening have been cancelled, leaving several people stuck on the platforms of Paragon Station, in a struggle to get home. National Rail tweet there was a disruption between Hull and, Brough and Beverley that was expected to last until 8.15pm, however in later tweets said the disruptions are expected to last until 10pm instead. One witness at the train station said: “The train has been stuck there not moving for about 30 minutes. There are a lot of people on it who look pretty fed up right now.” Several commuters have been stranded on the platform tweeting their concerns to train providers. On their website they said: “A points failure at Hull all lines are blocked. As a result, trains to / from Hull may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
