Lorry and bus crash forces busy Hull city centre junction to close

A busy Hull city centre junction was brought to a standstill this morning after a collision between a lorry and a bus saw the road closed by police. The Stagecoach bus was struck in the side by the lorry at around 7.30am this morning at the junction of Great Union Street and Clarence Street. It is unknown at this time what the cause of the collision was. A witness who was near the incident said they just heard a big bang before turning around to see the lorry embedded in the side of the bus. Traffic quickly built up in the area as drivers sought to avoid the road closure on Clarence Road, which lasted for around 20 minutes.
