M6 | Greater Manchester | Southbound | Collision | Road Closed

The M6 in Greater
Manchester is closed in southbound between J23 (Haydock, A580) and J22 (Winwick) due to a multiple vehicle collision.  

All emergency services are working at the scene in a response being led by North West Motorway Police Group. Highways England
Traffic Officers are on scene assisting with the implementation of strategic closures.  

Southbound diversion route using the “Hollow Triangle Symbol” has been installed: 

Leave the M6 at J23

At the roundabout take the2nd exit onto
the A580 and follow for 2.7 miles

At the junction with the B5207 turn right
and follow the B5207.

At the junction with the A572 turn right
and join the A572.

At the junction with the A579 turn left
and join the A579 and follow for 2 miles

At the junction with the M6 J22 , take
the first exit and rejoin the M6 southbound.
