M62 delays for motorists after ‘serious police incident’

Motorists faced traffic delays on the M62 on Tuesday morning following a “serious police incident” overnight. The road was fully closed between J38 and J37 near North Cave until around 6.50am on Tuesday when the closure was reduced to J38 only, according to a traffic alert. There was slow traffic on Tuesday morning due to what is believed to have been a serious accident on the M62 Westbound at J38, A63 (North Cave). It said congestion was to the South Cave turn-off causing tailbacks along the A63 but, by around 7.20am, it was reporting that all lanes had been re-opened. Travel system Inrix had previously reported on Tuesday morning how a main carriageway was closed and warned of slow traffic due to accident investigation work on the M62 westbound at J38, A63 (North Cave).
