M62 eastbound at standstill after crash – live updates

A crash has brought the M62 eastbound to a standstill between Howden and North Cave this afternoon. Police have closed the eastbound carriageway until further notice, causing a build-up in traffic from J37 at Howden to J38 at North Cave. Witnesses have described sitting in lengthy traffic queues while emergency services attend the scene. The M18 southbound is also experiencing similar traffic issues due to a crash around noon, from M62 J35 to J6 A614 Selby Road (Thorne). Motorists have been asked to avoid the area where possible for now.
