Overnight lane closures and diversions are set to be in place in parts of the M62 near Goole for maintenance works starting next month. Highways England stated the works, which begin on Monday, August 2, would see overnight closures in place to resurface both carriageways between Langham at Junction 35 and East Cowick. But the agency also stated some full closures would be required between Junction 34 at Whitley Bridge and Junction 36 at Goole, with works set to finish by mid-August. Esref Ulas, a project manager at Highways England, said the improvements would reduce the need for future unplanned works. The project manager said: “Our first sets of work started on Thursday, July 15 and included resurfacing, replacing the protective barriers or parapets on a number of bridges and renewing lighting with energy efficient LED bulbs. “Those works have progressed well and we are now ready to begin further improvements.
