M62 shut in both directions between North Cave and Howden…
The M62 was earlier shut in both directions between North Cave and Howden due to an incident. It was reported there was a crash at around 12:35pm and a man was believed to have “had a medical episode at the wheel of his car.” The M62 was closed in both directions until about 3pm, when Humberside Police reported it had re-opened. A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance following reports of a road traffic collision on the M62 near the junction 36 towards Hull. “Thankfully, no one is thought to have sustained any serious injuries as a result of the collisions. The incident was reported to us at approximately 12.35pm. It is thought that a man has had a medical episode at the wheel of his car.” In a post on social media at 2:11pm, Humberside Police said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance to an incident on the M62. “Drivers are advised that the road is currently closed in both directions between Junction 37 Howden and Junction 38 North Cave. The road will remain closed until further notice.” Traffic and travel reporting service Inrix logged the incident at 1:35pm. It said that all traffic was being 'temporarily held' in both directions. 15:25 Sofie Jackson M62 reopened Humberside Police said in a statement: “The M62 between Junction 37 Howden and Junction 38 North Cave has now been fully reopened.
