Man arrested after Mercedes crashes into Ferensway lamp post

A man was arrested after a Mercedes crashed into a lamp post in Hull city centre. Police and firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, with a photograph showing the car rammed against the lamp post outside Britannia House in Ferensway, at the crossroads with Spring Bank, Beverley Road, and Freetown Way. The crash happened at about 5.10pm and the driver was taken into police custody on suspicion of drink driving. A passenger was treated at the scene by paramedics but his injuries were not believed to be serious. A spokesperson for Humberside Police told Hull Live: “We were called at around 5.10pm on Sunday 10 December to reports that a car has been in collision with a lamppost at the junction of Beverley Road and Ferensway in Hull.
