In the early hours of Monday, January 6, a car travelling down Hull Road in Withernsea collided with four parked cars and two homes. The driver, who is understood to have been driving a blue Mercedes, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drink or drugs. He has suffered serious injuries, although they are not thought to be life-threatening. The road was closed at around 6am and was reopened again at 11am.
