A man has been taken to hospital following a crash in Hull city centre. The crash happened shortly after 4pm in George Street on Tuesday and involved a red Citroen car and a motorbike. A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision on George Street in Hull at 4.15pm yesterday (Tuesday, November 30). “A car was in collision with a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was knocked from his bike and was taken to hospital for treatment. A crash involving a red Citroen and a motorbike in George Street (Image: Katie Pugh) “Anyone who witnessed the collision that has not already spoken to the police should call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 322 of November 30, 2021.” George Street was closed in both directions after the crash, which took place on the stretch of road between Wilberforce Drive and A165 Freetown Way. Bus routes 24, 75 and 277, part of East Yorkshire Buses' services, were diverted due to the disruption to traffic. “A motorbike and red car collided,” said one eyewitness. “There's around four police cars, an ambulance and a fire engine has just arrived as we were turned round, but it looks like the street will be closed for a long time,” said another, on the emergency response to the incident.
