More cycle routes for Hull as £2.7m of funding agreed

Improved cycle routes between Hull and Cottingham are set to get into gear after securing necessary funding support. A total of £2.7m has been allocated for work to start on a route linking the city centre to Cottingham as well as on a separate scheme along Beverley Road in the city. The government funding is part of a £9.5m package signed off by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership aimed at boosting the region's ecoony over the next 18 months. Two other schemes featuring the construction of new roads at two major housing development sites in east Hull and repair work to a number of existing A-roads in Hull and the East Riding have also been awarded funding allocations. Each one required its business case to be approved by the LEP board before funding was released.
