New ‘traffic calming measures’ to be installed next week

Hull City Council has unveiled plans to improve road safety by introducing additional traffic calming measures on Pearson Park, with work set to kick off next week. The project will see the installation of four new road humps around Pearson Park and the expansion of the existing footpath at the junction of Park Road near Humberside Police Station. This initiative forms part of the council's ongoing pledge to enhance road safety and encourage active travel options for all residents. The new road humps aim to curb vehicle speeds, thereby boosting safety for all road users. Moreover, the expanded footpath will offer more room for pedestrians, making it safer and more accessible for everyone. Work is due to begin on Monday 30 September and is anticipated to wrap up in six weeks, weather permitting.
