Police ram ‘senseless idiot’ caught speeding along pavement in east Hull

A white Ford was chased by a police patrol car just before 1.20pm on Sunday. A video shared online shows the car travelling at some speed along the pavement in Shannon Road, with a patrol car following closely behind. It has now been revealed the driver was brought to a stop thanks to “tactical contact” by the officers involved, and they are now in police custody. The car was in a police chase in Shannon Road (Image: Humberside Police) A spokesman for Humberside Police said: “A vehicle was pursued this afternoon having failed to stop for a patrol. “It was brought to a conclusion with tactical contact when it was safe to do so, due to a increased risk to members of the public. “The driver fled on foot and was located in school grounds, following assistance from Operation Galaxy officers. “Drugs and a baseball bat were also recovered. “The driver is now in custody for several offences and is awaiting interview.” The car was in a police chase in Shannon Road (Image: Humberside Police) It is believed the driver was found in the grounds of Dorchester Primary School, having been stopped in Midmere Avenue.
