Police have released a short statement after a three-vehicle crash closed the A1034 near South Cave on Thursday. Hull Live told earlier on Thursday how a white van had been badly damaged in the crash. Read more here. Officers had closed the A1034 Kettlethorpe Hill at its junction with the B1230, around a kilometre north of South Cave, following the collision on Thursday. Now, Humberside Police have confirmed the crash involved three vehicles and said emergency services had attended the incident on the A1034, Kettlethorpe Hill at 12.20pm. A badly damaged van at the scene of a crash which has closed the A1034 (Image: Katie Pugh) A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said on Thursday afternoon: “Emergency services were in attendance to a three vehicle collision today (Thursday, April 15) on the A1034, Kettlethorpe Hill at 12.20pm. “A road closure was put in place at 12:40pm and has now re-opened a couple of hours later at 3pm.” It comes after the force Tweeted just after 1pm: “Road closures are in place on the A1034 Kettlethorpe Hill [junction] with the B1230 to allow emergency services to deal with a road traffic collision. Please avoid the area if possible.” Traffic information site Inrix said in an update at 1.45pm that the accident was causing heavy traffic and was affecting the roads between Newbald and South Cave. But later on Thursday afternoon, it said: “A1034 Kettlethorpe Hill in both directions reopened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared from B1230 (High Hunsley turn-off) to Wold Hill (North Cave turn-off). Sensors showed normal traffic once more and the road open at 3.10pm.” The damaged white van, which had a crumpled front end and smashed windscreen, was seen near the junction with police guarding the vehicle on Thursday afternoon.
