At around 10.20pm emergency services attended the serious road traffic collision on the road opposite El Chupitos restaurant, between Raglan Street and Sidmouth Street. Police advised drivers to avoid the area and buses were diverted via Queens Road, Beverley Road and Cottingham Road. Newland Avenue was closed off for more than two hours until police reopened it at 12.47am on Thursday.
