Video LoadingVideo UnavailablePolice cordoned off a bridge in the city following reports of concerns for a man’s welfare this morning. Argyle Street bridge, which is situated close to Hull Royal Infirmary – and a major route into the city – was completely closed off this morning. Police were on the scene at around 7.10am where they closed off access to the main access route to Spring Bank and the Avenues area of the city. A man was seen to be sat on the bridge being spoken to by officers. One eye-witness said at the time: “A man is on the bridge and officers are speaking to him. The road has been shut off, and loads of police are here guarding it. He added: “You can’t go across it either way – it will cause mayhem if it’s not opened soon.” Follow the latest updates on this breaking police incident as and when they happen in our designated blog below.
