At last some good news for motorists being driven to distraction by the congestion on Hull's roads. Yorkshire Water has confirmed work to repair a damaged sewer on Hedon Road has been completed well ahead of schedule. Contractors started on site between Marfleet Lane an Westgate Way on Monday. As part of the repairs to the 300m sewer, engineers had to dig down four metres while the outside carriageways in both directions on the A1033 were closed between the Marfleet Avenue roundabout and Westgate Way. In addition, access for vehicles onto Hedon Road from Marfleet Lane was also closed with traffic management systems and a signed diversion in place throughout.
