Resurfacing work to begin on Hull road in ‘poor condition’

Resurfacing work is set to get underway on Hull's Fountain Road which will involve a series of overnight closures over two weeks. The project will focus on renewing the deteriorated carriageway between Wincolmlee and Main Street, ensuring a smooth and even surface for traffic with sufficient grip and skid resistance. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 18, and is expected to take up to two weeks to complete, depending on the weather. To ensure safety, the work will be carried out under overnight road closures from 6pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. A diversion route will be in place, directing eastbound traffic via Northumberland Avenue, Barmston Street, and Oxford Street, while westbound traffic will be rerouted via Cumberland Street, Westmoreland Street, and Northumberland Avenue. The footpaths will remain unaffected, and access will be maintained for residents, emergency services, and bin collections.
