KCOM and council workers were in attendance on a Beverley street this morning where a road traffic collision had brought down a telegraph pole. Mill Lane, just to the north east of the town centre, was closed for two hours while the KCOM and council staff assessed the damage to communications equipment. For the latest Beverley news and headlines, click here. Around 10 to 12 houses have lost their direct connection to the phone lines with cables left hanging down the front of the properties. Mill Lane was closed for two hours while repair work took place this morning (Image: Rich Addison) Humberside Police confirmed this morning that the telegraph pole had been damaged during a road traffic collision, they estimated that the road would be closed for two hours while work took place to repair the damage. Humberside Police Tweeted this morning: “Following a road traffic collision and subsequent street furniture damage, Mill Lane in Beverley is current closed. “The local council and KCOM are in assistance to re-open the road as soon as possible, with an estimated repair time of at least two hours. Thanks for your patience.” One passer-by said: “I saw the pole had been damaged, it has been very misty and foggy this morning. Seemed like someone had misjudged the corner and gone into it. “All the cables were snapped away from the others, think there will be a few people without internet or their home phone until it is sorted. “They'd been lifting the pole a bit so it looked like they were fixing it but then they took it away, they've all gone now bu
