Road closure announced for essential carriageway maintenance scheme

Essential carriageway maintenance work has been announced by Hull City Council, starting from next week. Taking place on Boulevard, from the junction of Witty Street to Hessle Road, the scheme aims to renew the failed section of the carriageway. This will ensure the road provides a safe and even surface for traffic, with adequate grip and skid resistance. Work is set to begin on Monday, April 14, and expected to take around two weeks to complete. However, this is weather permitting. The work will be carried out in two phases to ensure the safety of both workers and road users. These two phases are as follows: Phase 1 (Monday, April 14 – Monday, April 28): Carriageway reconstruction works at the junction of Boulevard and Witty Street. During this period, the road will be fully closed to through traffic, with diversions in place. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained. Phase 2 (Saturday, April 26 – Monday, April 28): Carriageway resurfacing works between Witty Street and Hessle Road. The road will be closed between 4pm and midnight on Saturday 26 April and Sunday 27 April, and 6pm to midnight on Monday 28 April.
