Saltshouse Road to close for resurfacing work next week
Hull City Council is set to begin a vital carriageway resurfacing project on Saltshouse Road next week. Funded by the Highways Capital Programme and as part of the council's pledge to enhance and secure Hull's roads for the future, the scheme will refurbish the stretch of Saltshouse Road from the Robson Way/Saltshouse Road junction right up to High Tree Mount, near Church Street. The goal is to renew worn sections of the road, ensuring it remains safe, even, and offers ample skid resistance for all who travel on it. Starting Monday 7 October, works are expected to run for seven days, weather permitting. A road closure will be implemented to safeguard workers during the project, but access for locals and businesses will be preserved. Alternative routes will be signposted, directing traffic via Collage Street, Church Street, or Robson Way depending on the direction of travel. The pedestrian footways will remain open, and bin collections are scheduled to continue as normal.
