Series of closures on Hedon Road to begin, with roundabouts…

Sections of the A1033 Hedon Road will be closed during the coming weeks as work begins on a series of improvements. Resurfacing work will be carried out on the eastbound carriageway between the Northern Gateway roundabout (the turnoff for King George Dock west gate) and the Somerden roundabout (junction with Somerden Road). The Marfleet roundabout will also be affected. The work will involve replacing road markings and studs, and the installation of fixed bollards near Hull Prison. National Highways will be working overnight when the road is less busy, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday. To complete the work safely, the carriageway will be closed in two phases overnight to reduce the impact on residents and motorists. Although work is only being carried out on the eastbound carriageway, the westbound carriageway will have to be closed in places to avoid directing traffic to closed roundabouts.
