Snow falling across Yorkshire as white blanket covers M62 – weather warning

Plummeting temperatures across the region have found pockets of snow and ice becoming increasingly hazardous for drivers on roads in and around East Yorkshire. Highways England has told people to take extra care when driving tonight on the M62 motorway network after snow has been picked up on motorway cameras near Leeds. In a post on Twitter the agency which looks after the country’s motorway network said: “M62 J22 Denshaw to J24 Huddersfield, we are getting plenty of snow falling. “Please take extra care when driving.” The organisation has also added they have snow ploughs and extra gritters out across the long stretch motorway, Leeds Live reports.
