Spring Bank West closure: Hull road is now reopen in both directions

Spring Bank West has been reopened to westbound traffic leaving the city after residents were left with a deluge from a water mains pipe which ruptured on Monday, October 28. Engineers had battled it out in a race against time to fix the broken water main and stop homes flooding. They were then forced to fill in a huge man-made crater in the road which had been created to help stem the leaking water mains. Lanes heading eastbound into the city were opened on Friday afternoon, however, the carnage caused by the burst pipe resulted in a longer delay in opening the road and major diversions to city centre traffic.
