Stagecoach customers across Hull and East Yorkshire will be charged capped bus fares of no more than £2 for a single journey under a new government scheme. As part of the Department for Transport’s new fares initiative, through the Government’s Help for Households campaign, all single journeys for the next three months will cost no more than the cap of £2. The scheme will run between between January 1 and March 31, 2023. With people up and down the country facing the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis, it is hoped many can save money whilst choosing a more sustainable method of transport.
