Stepney Station shortlisted for National Railway Heritage Award

The restoration of Stepney Station in Hull, a landmark of significant historical note on Beverley Road, has been shortlisted for the distinguished National Railway Heritage Awards. The awards focus on celebrating best practice in restorations and the conservation of railway and tramway heritage throughout the UK. Currently operated by the Summit Education Society, this transformed station now serves as a hub for community engagement, revitalised under the Beverley Road Townscape Heritage Scheme. The winners of the National Railway Heritage Awards will be announced during a ceremony at Merchant Taylors’ Hall, London EC2, on Wednesday 4 December 2024. The refurbishment, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and spearheaded by Hull City Council, focused on preserving the building's unique historical features and carrying out crucial repairs to the roof and windows.
