If you park up your Ford Transit in Hull and East Yorkshire, beware as it’s the most likely vehicle to be stolen in this area. Last year, 117 of the popular transporter vehicles used by workers were reported stolen to Humberside Police. The van model is the most wanted by crooks across the region, followed next by the Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and VW Golf. In Hull, the worst streets for car theft were Anlaby Road and Beverley Road – with an average of 1.5 vehicles stolen per month in 2018, according to the latest figures. The numbers, obtained by GoCompare through a Freedom of Information request, show over 1,700 cars were reported as stolen to the force last year, representing a two per cent increase from 2017.
