Newly-unveiled plans for a bypass around Barton would see traffic completely avoid the town centre. The route would directly connect the A15 with the A1077 near Wren Kitchens in a major boost for local commuters. Hundreds of Barton residents have been consulted on the long-awaited route. The proposal would see motorists on the A15 turn onto the B0216, which would be significantly improved, and carry onto Caistor Road. A new stretch would then be created from the junction with Burnham Road to the existing roundabout with Falkland Way. Over 700 local residents were consulted on the plans over the last few years, with 62 per cent saying this route was their preferred option.
