A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Yesterday, Monday, January 3, officers were called to reports of a collision between a car and a van on Westfield Avenue, Goole at approximately 5.50pm. “Thankfully only minor injuries were sustained and three individuals received treatment at the scene.” An ambulance and two fire engines also were in attendance, but eyewitnesses say it took emergency services some time to show up. One witness at the scene said: “It took ages for the police to arrive. I got here a long time after someone had already called them about it and then it was still 20 minutes until they got here. “The car has ended up between a great big tree and a hedge up on the pavement, it looks impossible the way it is stuck in there.” Traffic was slowed down for hours on Western Road as the road closure blocked off the main access route for Goole and the hospital.
