Tornado steam engine sets off from Hull for the first time ever

The Tornado steam engine will be arriving in Hull at 9pm today, after returning on its Ribblehead Rambler charter for the first time. The 60163 'Tornado' has been running for 12 years but today would be the first time it will have worked from Hull's Paragon Station. It departed at 9am this morning from Hull, and made its way across the East Riding before heading north to Carlisle where it stopped for three hours for people to explore the Cumbria city. Click here for more travel news The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust said: “Whilst it is twelve years since Tornado took to the rails, the locomotive has never worked a train from Hull. In September, we put that right with a wonderful train from stations in the East Riding to the world-famous Settle and Carlisle Railway. “We depart from Hull and set out west across the East Riding before heading north, leaving the urban conurbation behind and breaking out into the Yorkshire Dales.” (Image: Mandy Grant) It has also visited Brough, Gilberdyk
