Traffic delays expected in Cottingham as major road closed
Cottingham residents will have to brace themselves for weeks of traffic delays as essential work on gas pipes will take place soon. Northern Gas Networks (NGN) is carrying out essential work to replace ageing metal pipework with more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers while also getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future. Work will begin Monday (November 6) and is expected to take around five weeks to complete. NGN says its team will be working hard to complete the project as quickly as possible and it has been planned in collaboration with East Riding Council. This means traffic lights will be in place on Northgate and Queen’s Way for one week from Monday.
