Tragedy of two men who died in incidents on same stretch of road a week before Christmas

Two men have tragically died following Hull city centre incidents just a week before Christmas. The deaths were both announced on Saturday, December 18. Humberside Police confirmed a man had died after being hit by a bus in Ferensway. Click here for more Hull Crime news He was found in the road by a Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff member at about 6.45am on Thursday with serious injuries. Police later said he was fighting for his life after being hit by a single-decker bus near the Beverley Road and Spring Bank junction, which was closed for several hours. That confirmation came just hours after the sad death of another man near Costa on the corner of Paragon Street and Ferensway. The whole area outside the coffee shop was sealed off on Saturday morning as Christmas shoppers flocked to the city centre and a tent was also erected at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious. Humberside Police are now appealing for drivers with dash cam footage who may have witnessed the bus incident to come forward. A spokesman said: “The collision took place at around 6:45am when a single-decker bus collided with a pedestrian at the junction of Spring Bank and Beverley Road. “The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment but has since died.
