A woman has spoken of her shock after a pregnant woman had to be cut out of a car, following a crash in Cottingham. The witness, who asked not to be named, was visiting her family at a nearby traveller site when the car hit a wall on Eppleworth Road. It is believed only one vehicle was involved. She was one of the first on the scene and quickly called the emergency services. An off-duty nurse, who happened to be passing, stopped to comfort and help the injured woman, while residents of the traveller site rushed down the road to divert traffic. I rang the ambulance and the police and it took 15 minutes for them to arrive. “Me and the nurse lady stood comforting her as the ambulance hadn’t arrived yet, nor had any police.
