Two cyclists hit by van near University of Hull

Two cyclists were injured after being struck by a van near the University of Hull, police confirmed today. It was reported a van hit two cyclists in Cottingham Road, near the University, at 1.40pm yesterday (Tuesday). Witnesses described seeing a woman lain in the road and feared she had been severely injured in the crash. A photograph from the scene posted on Hull Live's Traffic & Travel Facebook page showed an ambulance and two police cars in attendance. Witnesses reported that Cottingham Road was blocked and officers were directing traffic down Cranbrook Avenue. The other cyclist, a woman, was more seriously hurt and taken to hospital but, fortunately, her injuries were reported to not be life-threatening.
