Police have issued a statement on a fatal Beverley Road crash and confirmed a motorcyclist and pedestrian have both died. Humberside Police are now appealing for information following the crash on the A1079 Beverley Road in Hull, which they were called to on Thursday night after receiving reports that a motorbike had collided with a pedestrian. The rider of the motorcycle passed the Skoda garage close to Dunkeld Drive before “colliding with the pedestrian” near the junction for Evergreen Drive. Police say despite the efforts of emergency services, the motorcyclist and pedestrian suffered “fatal injuries and died at the scene”. Specialist trained officers are now supporting the families of both men Emergency services in attendance on Thursday night A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “Officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision yesterday (Thursday 8 July) at 10.40pm. “We were called to A1079 Beverley Road, Hull after receiving reports that a motorbike had collided with a pedestrian. “A Kawasaki motorcycle is believed to have been travelling on Beverley Road towards the Dunswell Road roundabout. “The rider of the motorcycle passed the Skoda garage close to Dunkeld Drive before colliding with the pedestrian near the junction for Evergreen Drive, Hull. “Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency services both the motorcyclist and pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. “The families of both men are now being supported by specialist trained officers. Our thoughts are with the men’s families at this sad time.” The spokeswoman urged anyone who can help with their appeal to get in touch. The statement comes after Hull Live told how the A1079 Beverley Road was closed in both directions due to “accident investigation work” from Hall Road to the A1033 Raich Carter Way (Dunswell Roundabout), according to travel system Inrix on Friday morning. It said the road had been closed since Thursday evening and that it was affecting traffic in and out of Hull. Meanwhile Humberside Police had Tweeted at 11.12pm on Thursday to warn motorists there had been a crash. “Due to a road traffic collision this evening, Beverley Road, Hull, is now closed in both directions from the Hall Road junction and Dunswell roundabout,” they said.
