A new trial is underway, aiming to use more environmentally friendly methods for repairing the roads in East Yorkshire. The two schemes are estimated to cost around around £265,000 and 'embrace the latest materials to reduce the carbon footprint of road improvements.' One such example of this work is on Pasture Road in Goole. This road has recently undergone resurfacing work using a product developed by Tarmac that uses granulated rubber from recycled tyres. So far, this has only been used in a handful of locations across the UK.
