Work is “progressing well” on the A63 scheme between South Cave and North Ferriby with highways bosses looking to “reduce the extents of the 40mph speed restriction” as it continues. National Highways is replacing safety barriers and upgrading lighting on the dual carriageway and says the team working on the scheme is working closely with the one completing the A63 Castle Street project, along with local authorities, to manage the impact on road users. Work, which began in July, is expected to be completed by April 2025 but it is hoped that, as it progresses, the length of the speed restricted area – which is enforced by average speed cameras – will be reduced.
