Updates as A63 blocked in both directions after ‘lorry crash’

The A63 has been blocked by a collision involving two lorries, police have said. The accident happened just after 1pm on Thursday afternoon, with traffic information site Inrix saying it has caused congestion to queue back beyond Mytongate Roundabout. It added that the main carriageway is closed and there is “queuing traffic”. Highways England confirmed on Twitter that both directions are currently blocked, advising drivers to find an alternative route for their journeys. Police were also advising drivers to avoid the area where possible.
