Updates as huge delays towards Humber Bridge after A180 crash

A closure is in place between the A160 Brocklesby junction to the A15 Barnetby Top junction. Humberside Police and Fire and Rescue are at the scene. Traffic is building, and there are severe delays in the area. The accident has taken place around a mile before the Barnetby turning at Junction 5. Traffic monitoring website Inrix says: ” A180 Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, car involved, from A160 (Brocklesby Interchange, Brocklesby) to M180 J5 (Barnetby Top, Barnetby). “Vehicle has gone into a ditch. There is no lorry involved, police confirm.” Delays are likely for traffic travelling west from Grimsby or Immingham towards Scunthorpe and the Humber Bridge. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area and seek an alternative route if possible. The slip road at Brocklesby Interchange is now also closed.
