Police have told drivers travelling to “drive to the conditions” as Hull and East Yorkshire bears the brunt of heavy rainfall. The Met Office has warned that two weeks of rain could fall in 30 hours in our area – and say the rain is expected to stay “for a long time”. Forecasters have put a yellow weather warning for rain in place until 3pm on Saturday, October 26 and said there is a chance of flash flooding, local road closures and damage to businesses and homes. Humberside Police tweeted on Friday evening that an area outside Brandesburton Village Hall and Old Road at Leconfield is flooded. They said: “Please take extra care if you intent to travel in the area.” Rainfall in Hull They later said that they have received calls from members of the public reporting standing water across East Yorkshire. A spokesman for the force tweeted: “Due to the continuing heavy rain, we are getting calls regarding standing water at various locations across the East Riding.
