Four flood alerts are already in force – but a red flood warning has now been issued, meaning “flooding is expected” to affect properties. The new update covers part of Holderness, around Patrington Haven at Winestead Drain. With more rainfall expected on Friday afternoon, the Environment Agency have stepped up their work in the area. Incident response staff are “closely monitoring the situation” and pumps are being used in attempts to avert further flooding. The warning was put in place late on Friday morning after a morning of problems. A map of the areas warned to take ‘immediate action’ People are being told to avoid driving through the build up of water or using certain footpaths in the area.
