Weeks of overnight closures set for Hull’s Castle Street as new footbridge installed

Hull's Castle Street is set for overnight closures next month for the installation of a new footbridge ahead of its opening in April. National Highways stated the new 37m long footbridge would allow walkers and cyclists to cross over Castle Street from Porter Street on the north side to St James Street. Click here for more A63 news. National Highways project manager Fran Oliver said it would improve safety for walkers and cyclists and help ease congestion in Castle Street. The bridge's hoisting is set to see the A63 closed overnight for three weeks between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way from Monday, March 7 to Friday, March 25. Closures are set to be in place from 8pm to 6am during the installation of the bridge which is due to open to walkers and cyclists in April. The new bridge comes as part of National Highways' £355m works to improve Castle Street. The installation of the Porter Street footbridge follows that of Murdoch's Connection, east of the new struct
