The tragic deaths of two young men in a motorbike crash has rocked the north Hull community. Almost immediately, the pair were named locally as 19-year-old Kane McBride and 25-year-old Adam Wright, with tributes flooding social media as the news broke. It is understood Kane died at the scene. Shocked residents in north Hull said they heard a bang before emergency services flooded the scene, and one neighbour carried out CPR on one of the victims. Humberside Police has so far confirmed that Kane and Adam were riding a motorbike down Hall Road, before it crashed at the junction with Courtland Road. No other vehicles have been confirmed to be involved. Dave Havler, 63, said: “We didn’t hear any bang, but it happened over there by the crossing. It’s a really dangerous crossing that and something needs to be done about it. “It’s absolutely terrible, but unfortunately this kind of thing happens a lot around here.” Another resident and parent also mentioned the crossing. She said: “It’s awful, I am really close to there and the Park Academy. “I have spoken to the school about safety for the children to cross safely in a morning- like a lollipop man or lady- and no one takes me seriously. Maybe they might now, and also I feel for the families at this sad time.” Ambulances at the scene on Wednesday evening (Image: Facebook/ Lee Steels) What happened in the aftermath? Emergency services rushed to the scene, to attend to the victims of the crash. One witness described how her husband had rushed out of their home to give one of the victims CPR. The witness said the man had held the hand of the victim until paramedics arrived, but she believed he “didn’t make it”. It is now thought that it was 19-year-old Kane who died at the scene. Neighbours say an air ambulance hovered above houses, causing them to shake, but it is not clear if it actually landed. Social media posts carried messages of hope for Adam, who is believed to have died later on Wednesday night. Mrs Dosdale, 82, recounted the moment paramedics filled the street. She said: “All I heard was a loud ‘bang’, and then it was just chaos. All the ambulances started arriving and then the helicopter came. “It’s terrible, absolutely awful, but what can you do? They were only teenagers, bless them.” On the morning of February 9, spray paint markers were left on the road and pavement, to indicate where the crash happened and suggesting at least one of them may have hit the low wall nearby. Police markings at the scene Fundraising for funeral In light of the devastating news, a fundraiser has been set up for Kane to help his family with funeral costs.
