A section of Hull road that has been plagued by problems for years is to close again. The riverside stretch of road encompassing Bankside and Wincolmlee has experienced a number of different issues caused by improvement works, flooding and gas repairs over the last couple of years. Now a section of the road will be closed in both directions again in Wincolmlee, between Wilmington Bridge and Air Street , so that “essential updates to the electricity network” can be carried out. Hull City Council added that due to the nature of the excavations, emergency vehicles would not be allowed to access the road either. Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for roads, highways and transport said: “Northern Powergrid has advised us that these upgrades are necessary to ensure the electricity network continues to operate reliably and safely. “T
