Withernsea to see major road and path improvements as council…
A major road improvement scheme is set to begin in Withernsea this October. East Riding of Yorkshire Council has earmarked £481,000 for the upgrade of road and path surfaces on the A1033 Hollym Road and Queen Street. The project, which will utilise around 2,000 tonnes of road material, will be executed in three phases from October to January, spanning from the Tesco’s roundabout to The Willows Holiday Park. The first phase, commencing on Monday 7 October, will focus on enhancing the footpath, kerbing and surface drainage along the route. This phase is expected to last up to eight weeks, with temporary traffic lights in place to manage traffic flow. The second phase, scheduled to start on Wednesday 4 December, will involve road resurfacing work on Hollym Road over five evenings, from 6pm to midnight. During this time, a temporary road closure will be enforced, with a signed diversion via the B1362 to Weghill Road, Preston C28 to Saltend Roundabout. Bus services will be rerouted using Holmpton Road as an alternative. However, the road will reopen each morning, allowing for normal daytime traffic.
