Stoneferry Road reopens after lorry crashes into bridge – recap

There was slow traffic on Stoneferry Road this morning as images showed a lorry was stuck under the bridge. According to the traffic reporting service, Inrix, at the time Stoneferry Road 'in both directions partially blocked. Slow traffic due to bridge struck by vehicle from Foster Street to Woodhall Street'. It is not the first time that this has happened. Back in May, a lorry became wedged under the bridge and motorists were advised to avoid the area. And just two days ago, we reported how a HGV driver had his pride 'majorly' hurt after hitting Stoneferry bridge. The road has now reopened. Share 10:49 Laura Cross Humberside Police statement A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers are currently in attendance on Stoneferry Road in Hull following reports of a lorry colliding with a railway bridge at around 9.20am this morning (Thursday, 4 September). “A partial road closure is currently in place as emergency services recover the vehicle, motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.” Share
