£200,000 road improvement scheme for East Yorkshire village

Hull Daily Mail Icon News Hull & East Yorkshire News Traffic & Travel Work is scheduled to begin next week A road improvement scheme will soon begin in Winestead, East Riding Yorkshire of Council has announced. The council is investing £200,000 to improve Bydales Lane, covering a stretch of road between the junction with Cross Lane and the railway crossing. Work is scheduled to star on Monday, November 3, and expected to last three weeks. Work will be carried out during the daytime, the council clarified. The improvements will involve resurfacing the road, structural patching, and upgrading the existing passing places. The triangular island at the junction will be removed and the layout realigned to improve traffic flow. The road will be closed to all through traffic during the work. A a signed diversion route will be in place via Winestead Lane, Chantry Lane, Arables Lane, Arables and Frodingham Lane. Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “We want to thank residents, businesses and drivers in this area in advance for their patience and understanding while we complete these road improvements.” Access to properties within the area will be maintained throughout.
