Man, 27, ‘seriously injured’ in crash near supermarket

The incident happened at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, December 9. Humberside Police said the driver of the car involved in the incident, a silver Volkswagen Polo, stopped at the scene. They are assisting the police with their enquiries. A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are appealing for information following a reported road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car on Welton Road, Brough on Tuesday, 9 December. “We were called at around 4.50pm to reports that the driver of a silver Volkswagen Polo and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on Welton Road, Brough outside of the Morrisons supermarket. “The pedestrian, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries. “The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers whilst enquiries continue. “If you witnessed the collision, have dashcam footage from around the time of the incident, or have any further information that may assist our enquiries, please call us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 357 of the 9 December 2025.” Do you feel safe on the roads?
